All of our counselors have Master’s Degrees in the fields of Counseling, English, Psychology, or Higher Education Administration in addition to at least 5 years experience in either guidance counseling at the high school level or student development and admissions in higher education .

Heather MW Petrelli, MA - Founder and President

Ms. Petrelli is an experienced and dedicated professional with 15 years experience in higher education working at 8 colleges in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Florida.  Before entering higher education she was a psychological therapist specializing in bereavement, child development, and substance abuse.  Areas of expertise within higher education include counseling, career development, tutoring, disability services, law school advising, study abroad programs, and admissions.  Ms. Petrelli has also worked as a high school guidance counselor at a private high school and as an assistant dean of student services at a large research university where admissions was her primary responsibility.  Ms. Petrelli makes it her responsibility to remain abreast of theories and trends that develop in the field of admissions by participating in professional organizations and conferences.  Because Ms. Petrelli has had the opportunity of working on both sides of the Admissions desk she is able to dispel myths and help you focus on what is really important—the needs of your child.
